John A. Logan Baseball Field, Turf Infield Installation
The scope of work for this project included Architechniques, Ltd. working with Hurst-Rosche Engineers, Inc of Marion, Illinois in designing and overseeing the removal of existing natural turf infield and sufficient earth sub-base to accommodate installation of new aggregate, drain pipes and synthetic turf. The General Contractor, ATG Sports, work includes the clearing and grading of the existing surface along with installation of the geo-textile fabric, under-drains, base aggregate, and artificial turf product with infill. the installation of the storm sewers and the decommissioning of the existing irrigation system in the infield area. Other items of work included a new turf home bullpen area, as well as new fence and fence protection. This project was made possible by a donation to the John A. Logan College Foundation by the Harrison Bruce Foundation.
